The olefination reaction on sclerol glycol proceeded successfully; however, purification required reversed-phase chromatography, as the product was obtained with relatively low purity when purified by normal-phase chromatography using 100% heptane. The paper is also somewhat unclear regarding the experimental procedures, as it provides a general procedure rather than specific conditions for each individual compound.
